Beginner Stained Glass Class
4 weeks May/June, Saturdays 12 - 2:30 pm

A stained class for beginners to learn the basics of the copper foil technique. Students will create a small panel or suncatcher from one of a number of designs available. Process will include pattern making, cutting glass, grinding, foiling, soldering, patina, and finishing. Materials and use of tools to finish project included (up to 80 square inches - 8" x 10").
4 Saturday afternoons from 12 - 2:30 pm (10 hours total). May 16, 23, 30, June - Attendance of all four dates recommended to complete project.
Recommended 16yrs and older. Under 16 must be accompanied with an adult.
Spring Birds Painting Workshop - May 6, 3 - 5pm
Paint a flock of spring birds!
Join Vicki for two hours of colorful spring bird mixed media painting. Be brave and have fun, unleash your creativity and leave your inhibitions at home. We will create postcard sized paintings, using a mix of watercolor, gouache and casien paints. All supplies will be provided.
Vicki has been a professional artist for most of her life. She uses any and every thing that comes along to create art. Vicki enjoys giving classes and workshops to all ages.
Mother’s Day Stamp & Tote Workshop - May 9, 12 - 2pm
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a fun, hands-on creative experience designed for moms and children under 10. In this interactive workshop, each mother-child duo will work together to design and build a one-of-a-kind stamp using mini canvas, twine, and hot glue (with moms assisting for safety). Once complete, kids can take the lead in bringing their designs to life—using fabric paints to stamp unique patterns onto a canvas tote bag.
Participants will leave with a custom-designed tote and a memorable shared experience. No prior art experience needed—just creativity and a willingness to have fun together!
Needle Felting Workshop: Sculpting with Wool
Discover the art of needle felting in this hands-on workshop, where soft wool transforms into charming, textured creations. This session will guide you through the process of shaping and detailing wool using special felting needles.
Participants will learn beginner techniques like building a firm core, layering colors, adding defining features, and achieving smooth finishes. You’ll create your own small felted figure critter to take home by the end of the class.
All materials and tools are provided—just bring your creativity and curiosity. Expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with plenty of individual guidance, perfect for unwinding while crafting something uniquely yours. This class is recommended for ages 12 and older due to the use of sharp needles.

Welcome to The Gallery on Gambier. We are elated you found us and we hope you come visit our gallery if you haven’t already. You will find us conveniently located downtown in Mount Vernon, Ohio - within one block of the famous dog fountain on Main and Gambier. Our primary goal is to glorify God, the author of creativity, through serving our community, supporting and encouraging local artists, offering various art classes for all ages, interests and skills, and by hosting engaging and fun events.
The Gallery on Gambier is the home for owner Kurt and Lorry Wendling’s stained glass business - Wendling Glass Creations. The spacious back room is our on-site studio, supplies store, and classroom. The main front room facing Gambier St. is where we showcase our glass creations and finely crafted works from artist friends in Knox County and surrounding regions.
The Gallery on Gambier offers art framing services for instore purchases as well as walk in requests. We feature dozens of frame and matt options and will help you select the best combination to enhance your investments and memories.
